Josh Dobbs will start for the 49ers against the Cardinals as Brock Purdy is sidelined with an elbow contusion, marking the team's third different starting quarterback this season.
Coach Kyle Shanahan noted that Dobbs has practiced well throughout the year, stating: 'Both [Dobbs and Brandon Allen] gave good looks in the scout team. They split reps and they're always ready.'
Dobbs made a notable impression in his debut for the 49ers, completing 3-of-4 passes for 35 yards and scoring a last-minute touchdown run after coming on for Purdy.
Despite going 3-11 in his NFL starting career, including a rough stretch with the Cardinals last year, Dobbs previously secured a win against the Cowboys while with Arizona.
