Storm leaves thousands without power, triggers flood advisories across Bay Area
Briefly

The first wave in an atmospheric river storm knocked out power to thousands of Pacific Gas & Electric Co. customers and triggered widespread flood advisories Wednesday night across the San Francisco Bay Area and Central California.
Around 7 p.m., the Redwood City Police Department reported signal outages at multiple intersections. Motorists were advised to treat affected intersections as four-way stops. Both directions of San Bruno Avenue at Huntington Avenue in San Bruno were closed Wednesday evening due to flooding, according to the San Bruno Police Department. Roadway flooding was also reported at the Santa Clara Street and San Carlos Street off-ramps in San Jose. The forecast called for the storm to drop up to 3 inches of rain in San Francisco, 2 inches in parts of Contra Costa County, and 1.5 inches in San Jose and Livermore.
