Spanish woman believed to be the oldest person in the world has died at age 117

Maria Branyas, the world’s oldest person at 117 years old, has peacefully passed away in her sleep, leaving a legacy of resilience and positivity.

Branyas had previously expressed a calm acceptance of her mortality, saying just days before her death, "I don't know when, but very soon this long journey will come to an end..."
