A 43-year-old man from Union City is charged with over 150 felonies for embezzling $4.3 million from his trucking company, financing a luxurious lifestyle.
Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price stated that the man is facing 89 counts of grand theft by embezzlement, corresponding to each month of theft from January 2015 to May 2022.
Prosecutors assert that he used his trust position to control finances and a company fuel card account, enabling him to write and cash checks to himself.
The man allegedly laundered more than $900,000 in embezzled funds and falsely claimed to have $10,000 monthly in net gambling winnings to hide his financial misdeeds.
