Kirk Olsen, a 61-year-old backpacker, went missing during a planned trip in Yosemite National Park from August 23 to 27 near Ostrander Lake.
Officials request help from the public regarding Olsen's disappearance, urging anyone who saw him to contact authorities or provide information via the tip line or email.
The trail to Ostrander Lake is strenuous, with an elevation gain of 1,500 feet and is popular for its granite dome viewpoints like Mount Starr King.
In a similar case from August, public assistance led to the safe recovery of a man and woman who were also reported missing in Yosemite.
