A two-vehicle collision in Castledermot claimed the life of a man in his 40s, while the truck driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Gardaí are seeking witnesses and any dash-cam footage from road users who were in the vicinity of the collision between 8:45 am and 9:45 am.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene and has been transferred to Naas General Hospital for a post mortem examination.
Local roads are affected, with the R448 closed from Junction 4 of the M9 to Castledermot while investigations continue into the fatal incident.
