House Bill Would Make Auto-Braking Rules Stronger to Protect Cyclists - Streetsblog USA
Briefly

Rep. Joe Neguse’s Magnus White Cyclist Safety Act aims to mandate automatic braking systems in new vehicles, enhancing protection for cyclists and pedestrians who are increasingly vulnerable on our roads.
Michael White lamented, 'We know his death was very preventable,' advocating for automatic emergency braking technology that could save lives like that of his son, Magnus.

The Magnus White Safety Act would not only expedite implementation of existing AEB regulations from NHTSA but also expand their effectiveness to include detection of different skin tones and clothing.
