On Saturday, Sept. 14, South San Jose will host a free large-item disposal event, allowing residents to drop off accepted items from 8 a.m. to noon.
The event aims to facilitate the disposal of large items like mattresses and furniture, while ensuring that hazardous and electronic waste is not accepted.
Organized by City Councilmember Arjun Batra, the initiative encourages community engagement and offers opportunities for students to earn service hours through volunteering.
Participants are instructed to enter the drop-off location from eastbound Shawnee Lane, promoting an organized and efficient disposal process.
