A big rig truck caught fire just past the Golden Gate Bridge toll plaza in the southbound lane around 11 am. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) posted images of the charred vehicle at 11:41 am. The two rightmost lanes of southbound 101 were closed for firefighting and cleanup efforts. A tow truck was seen preparing to remove the truck by 12:25 pm. Golden Gate Transit buses were not stopping at the toll plaza due to the fire. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
