Advocates Resist Muni Service Cuts - Streetsblog San Francisco
Briefly

Over 100 transit advocates gathered at San Francisco City Hall to protest proposed cuts to Muni funding, highlighting a $7.2 million reduction considered by the board. Activists, including Cyrus Hall and Chris Arvin, stressed that cutting services contradicts equity principles and hampers future funding proposals. District 5 Supervisor Bilal Mahmood criticized the cuts, pointing out the dependence of local residents on Muni for transportation. Speakers called attention to the ongoing struggle for equitable transit in a city that prioritizes car drivers, urging the city to enhance, not diminish, public transit resources.
