San Jose council appoints temporary downtown representative - San Jose Spotlight
Briefly

San Jose officials have appointed Carl Eugene Salas as the temporary District 3 representative on the City Council until voters elect a permanent replacement in April. The City Council selected Salas after a review process focused on homelessness, budget priorities, and other downtown issues. He has strong local ties, having lived in San Jose for 50 years and managed multiple properties in District 3. Mayor Matt Mahan praised Salas's experience in managing budgets and projects, indicating he will contribute significantly to addressing community challenges.
He also highlighted his roles on the Rotary Club and the San Jose Police Foundation as an example of his people skills to create lasting partnerships on the council that will benefit the city.
I keep thinking that there's some chance the city and (Santa Clara County) can work together to actually pony up money and share a joint housing project.
