San Jose asks churches to lend a hand with housing - San Jose Spotlight
Briefly

In San Jose, Mayor Matt Mahan is engaging religious institutions to tackle the homelessness crisis by utilizing church properties for affordable housing. At a recent event, nine religious groups expressed interest in participating. Pastor Ken Foreman highlighted the concept 'Yes in God's Backyard' (YIGBY) as a creative housing solution. Foreman's own church aims to develop 240 homes on their property in partnership with a developer. The initiative emphasizes collaboration with faith communities to enhance local living conditions and support vulnerable populations.

I believe that our path to a better city and to reaching our full potential as a city is in large part reliant on communities.
