Gov. Jeff Landry announced plans for an executive order requiring state employees to return to the office, aiming for implementation within 30 days. His remarks, made during a speech at the St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce event, received an enthusiastic response. This decision follows a national trend of returning to in-person work post-COVID pandemic and aligns with a directive from President Trump to end remote work. The Louisiana Department of Revenue has also revealed new telework policies requiring office presence for full-time employees at least four days per week, affecting a significant portion of its workforce.
"I've been pushing my cabinet secretaries to make sure that our people are going back to work. And I can tell you in the next 30 days or so, we're going to sign an executive order telling everybody, 'It's time to get back to work.'"
"At least two state agencies in Louisiana on Tuesday confirmed imminent plans to revamp their telework policies. Full-time employees in the Louisiana Department of Revenue will be required to work from an office at least four days per week beginning March 17."
