Phil Arballo, after unsuccessful Congressional runs in 2020 and 2022, was hired by Schwab in a wealthy Los Altos branch. He alleges he was fired after his boss discovered his political affiliation and discussed derogatory claims against him. The lawsuit claims that the branch manager's behavior was politically motivated, as he purportedly expressed anti-Democratic views and raised conspiracy theories. Schwab has called the allegations "unwarranted" and intends to respond in court, while Arballo seeks justice for his termination.
Schwab in a statement Friday called the lawsuit's allegations "unwarranted," and said it would respond to them in court.
Boyd did not immediately respond to requests for comment Friday.
Arballo, who now divides his time between Palo Alto and Fresno, denied a claim that he had worked as a pornography producer in 2023 before taking the position at Schwab.
Within a few months of Arballo's hiring, Boyd called him into a meeting where another Schwab employee was present, the lawsuit said.
