Police Photos Taken Inside Connecticut House of Horrors Reveal Squalid Conditions in Which Man Was Allegedly Held Captive by His Stepmom
Briefly

Kimberly Sullivan, 56, faces severe charges after her stepson, who endured abuse for over two decades, set fire to their home seeking freedom. Found weighing just 68 pounds, his living conditions shocked authorities with images showing piles of trash, external locks on doors, and evidence of deterioration. Sullivan pleaded not guilty, despite testimonies of his horrific experiences. The case has raised awareness of extreme domestic abuse and the need for intervention in hidden cases like this one.
The images reveal the squalid conditions in which they were living before the stepson intentionally lit a fire inside the property in a bid to gain his freedom.
Now, local authorities have shed new light on the heinous conditions inside the property, releasing several images that were taken in the wake of the fire.
Her 32-year-old stepson, who has not been named, was found by firefighters on Feb. 17 'curled up in a little ball' under the kitchen table.
Several doors in the home were found to be fitted with locks on the outside, indicating extreme measures were taken to confine the victim.
