Corneilius Brown, a 22-year-old Navy sailor, was shot multiple times by two masked men at his La Mesa apartment on April 24, 2021. Despite efforts to save him, he died during surgery. Nearly four years later, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. Brown's family, deeply affected by his murder, hopes this reward will help generate leads. They remember him as a well-liked young man, and his mother expressed her shattered heart over the loss.
"My son's murder will never be behind me. It's forever in front of me," Brown's mother, Addrienne Brown, said, expressing her ongoing grief and struggle.
"It is just terribly hard to believe that someone would take his life," said Norman Brown, expressing disbelief and sorrow over his son's killing.
"Someone knows something, and hopefully, this reward will encourage them to come forward," emphasized the family’s plea for information regarding Corneilius Brown's murder.
"I didn't want to live; I had no reason left to live," Addrienne Brown shared, conveying the profound impact of her son's tragic death.
