A 10-year-old girl from Kern County, Southern California, was safely recovered one day after being kidnapped by a 27-year-old man she communicated with online. The girl had been conversing with Matthew Macatuno Naval on Roblox and Discord before the incident. Police located her in Elk Grove, hundreds of miles away, leading to Naval's arrest for kidnapping and unlawful sexual conduct. Authorities highlighted the critical need for parents to oversee their children’s online interactions to prevent such occurrences.

Elk Grove police assisted Kern County officials and were able to find Naval in his car at a strip mall near his home with the missing child.
