
"A former teacher and coach at the shuttered Summit Everest school has been arrested and charged with sex crimes for having alleged sexual relationships with two high school students. 31-year-old Anthony Gutierrez-Molina of Palo Alto was taken into custody this past Thursday by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office for the crimes. The relationships with the students occurred from around 2023 to 2025."
"One of the student victims came forward this past January to report the abuse. That victim was 16 at the time that relationship started. A second victim was discovered over the course of that investigation. The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office does add the reassuring statement that Gutierrez-Molina is not believed to have been working as an educator since the closure of Summit Everest."
