"William Machado, 35, was sentenced to 35 to 40 years of state prison followed by 10 years of supervised probation in Fall River Superior Court on Friday. Machado was convicted of two counts of rape of a child aggravated by a five-year age difference, two counts of rape of a child by force, assault to rape a child, indecent assault and battery on a person under 14, lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 16, and open and gross lewdness."
William Machado, 35, received a 35-40 year prison sentence plus 10 years supervised probation for sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl. Machado moved to Massachusetts in 2021 and lived with family members, including the victim. In January 2022, the child's mother discovered Machado in her daughter's bedroom at night with suspicious items including nail polish remover and a surgical mask, suggesting an attempt to render the child unconscious. The mother intervened and removed the child to safety. Machado was convicted on multiple charges including two counts of rape of a child, assault to rape, indecent assault and battery, lewd and lascivious acts, and attempted drugging for sexual purposes.
