The search for 79-year-old Elaine McKinley, who went missing while hiking in Portola Valley, California, has reached day five. Nearly 60 volunteers are currently combing the area, less than the 150 from the previous day. Supported by multiple agencies, the search focuses on previously overlooked areas. McKinley, who suffers from dementia, wandered off during a hike with her partner Kit Durgin. Durgin recounts how McKinley was last seen admiring wildflowers, and expresses hope through the efforts of the search team and her own psychic's guidance.
"She just took off and it never occurred to me that she wouldn't stop at the picnic area, our car was there, so I thought she'd recognize our car and we had talked about it but she has Alzheimer's."
"We are focused on areas where there may have been gaps in previous searches and utilizing every resource available to find Elaine."
