A Vacaville carjacking suspect, Aaron Kyle Ash, was arrested and wounded in Fairfield after pointing a gun at a police officer. He's charged with attempted murder of a peace officer, carjacking, and other offenses. His co-defendant, a 15-year-old, faces similar charges. The incident began with a carjacking in Vacaville, where the suspects allegedly fired at a victim. The police were alerted by license plate-reading technology and apprehended the suspects shortly after, with Ash sustaining injuries during the confrontation.
In a Tuesday press statement, Solano County District Attorney Krishna Abrams stated that Aaron Kyle Ash, 19, has been charged with attempted murder of a peace officer.
The suspects reportedly fired approximately eight rounds at a victim in Vacaville, who was not injured but transported himself to the hospital for a facial injury.
Fairfield officers located the carjacked vehicle within their city limits. The suspects were engaged by police, leading to Ash's arrest and subsequent charge.
Due to the nature of the case and ongoing investigation, no other details were released on Tuesday, according to the District Attorney.
