The 60th anniversary celebration of the Grateful Dead at Golden Gate Park attracted 55,000 fans, including both old and new generations of Deadheads. Dead & Company, featuring members like Bob Weir and John Mayer, performed 16 songs over three hours. Noteworthy moments included a welcome by Trixie Garcia on her father Jerry's birthday. Despite the performance not being considered primetime Dead & Company, the event was well-received with plenty of joy and nostalgia among attendees.
The joy was simply overwhelming as some 55,000 Deadheads turned out to Night 1 of the three-day celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Bay Area's own Grateful Dead.
Dead & Company, featuring longtime Dead members, has kept the Grateful Dead spirit alive with performances including two lengthy residences at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
