Metallica and Apple announce immersive VR concert film
Briefly

Metallica's new VR concert film, simply titled 'Metallica', will debut on Apple Vision Pro starting March 14th. Filmed during their final 'M72 Tour' performance in Mexico City, it showcases three classic songs in immersive 180-degree video with Spatial Audio. Viewers can experience intimate perspectives from the stage, including a unique 'Snake Pit' area. Those without the headset can enjoy a standalone SP EP through Apple Music. Metallica's drummer Lars Ulrich praised the technology's immersive feel during a recent SXSW interview, highlighting the unique experience of editing and experiencing VR content.
"It was just so cool, the filming part, but then the editing part - the first few times having the headset on and being able to do that [moves head around] and see and also hear the [spatial] audio, it's just fucking crazy."
"The footage captures ultra-high-resolution 180-degree video and Spatial Audio to bring viewers vantage points as close up as the band's 'Snake Pit', in addition to wide-angle views of the stage."
