Nadirah Shakoor, Grammy nominee and former lead singer of Arrested Development, made a notable appearance in Castro for Black History Month. She performed at the Honoring LGBTQ+ Black Women Leaders & Allies event in February 2025, part of the Divas & Drinks series by the San Francisco Bay Times.
