After 18 years in San Francisco, we're leaving the City by the Bay. We're keeping offices open in the Bay Area, in San Jose and Palo Alto.
Main reasons for the move are crime, homelessness, rampant drug use, and an unsustainable city tax structure, especially for financial payments companies.
X could have stayed in San Francisco but chose to move to Austin. Access to restaurants and a less problematic environment in Downtown San Jose are highlights of the new location.
