Urgent recall for popular chocolate brand after customers find STONES
Briefly

Tony's Chocolonely has issued an urgent nationwide recall for its Dark Almond Sea Salt and Everything bars, sold at major retailers, due to potential choking hazards from small stones. The FDA emphasizes the risk of injury from foreign objects in food. Twelve consumers have already reported issues, prompting the recall. Specific lot codes and best before dates are provided for consumers to identify affected products. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. The company explains that stones entered the bars during almond harvesting and processing, and reassures that other products remain unaffected.
The FDA warns that 'hard or sharp foreign objects in food may cause traumatic injury including laceration and perforation of tissues of the mouth, tongue, throat, stomach and intestine as well as damage to the teeth and gums.'
A spokesperson for Tony's Chocolonely said the small stones made their way into the bars during 'third-party almond harvesting and the almond processing process'.
