Staff at Michelin-recognized Bay Area restaurant allege poor working conditions

According to screenshots of messages allegedly from management included in the letter, front-of-house employees at the Michelin-recognized eatery were notified on Oct. 16 that their last day of service would be Oct. 27 so that the restaurant could "move forward into an exciting new chapter," effectively laying them off.
Kao Saelee stated, "Our staff at Jo's Modern Thai bring so much passion, dedication, and hard work to the restaurant, and are an essential part of our business... we've offered all staff the opportunity to continue with us under new guidelines that will help us achieve these goals."
In an Instagram post, chef-partner Intu-On Kornnawong announced her departure from Jo's Modern Thai and The Peach, stating, "I decided to end my partnership with Kao and my involvement with Jo's Modern Thai and The Peach."
