Johnny McGrew of Mio Vicino Pasta and Pizzeria states their marinara sauce recipe is traditional, passed down from the original owner to the current head chef, Elias Salvador, who has been with the restaurant for 33 years.
Pino Spatole from Paesano Ristorante emphasizes the importance of fresh ingredients, claiming his secret to great sauce is using fresh Roma tomatoes cooked twice, along with a food mill.
Deanna Orkin, co-owner of Sorelle Italian Bistro, attributes her sauce’s success to family traditions, highlighting the involvement of her mother and three sisters in crafting recipes.
