Supreme Dumplings, the much-anticipated restaurant from Seattle, recently opened its first California location in San Francisco's Stonetown Galleria. Following a successful soft opening, the eatery generated buzz on social media, showcasing its dishes like xiao long bao and pork chop fried rice. Crowds amassed, leading to wait times of nearly two hours, which many deemed worthwhile, including San Francisco's Mayor who endorsed the restaurant's offerings. Despite the lack of reservation options during my visit, my eagerness to taste the dumplings persisted amid the competitive dining scene surrounding the mall.
After patiently standing in line for what felt like an eternity, I finally registered for the waitlist at Supreme Dumplings, feeling a mix of anticipation and hunger.
Many patrons seemed undeterred by the wait time; in fact, it appeared that the longer the wait, the higher the anticipation grew, creating a lively atmosphere.
