Hog Island Oyster Co. teams up with winery to help save white abalone
"This was a natural fit. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. As a land-based company that thrives on feeding the land organically for future generations, we saw a clear parallel with Hog Island, their ethos and this focused campaign."
"I've been working with Patrick for over 20 years, and bringing people together is something that he does very well. This conversation is no exception. We were able to support a cause that originated with Hog Island in Marin County but is very relevant and near to us in Paso Robles."
Hog Island Oyster Co. and McPrice Myers Wines have collaborated to create Sea Legacy, a 100% clairette blanche wine from Paso Robles available exclusively at Hog Island locations across Marin, Sonoma, Napa, and San Francisco counties. The partnership channels 25% of proceeds to the White Abalone Project, dedicated to restoring the functionally extinct native white abalone species to California's coast. Both companies share a commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Patrick McNeil, director of sales at McPrice Myers Wines and former proprietor of Wines that Deliver, facilitated the partnership. The clairette blanche grapes originate from Paper Street Vineyard and were previously used for McPrice Myers' Arrived! wine.
