"All my family is still overseas, and I knew there was a chance at some point I would be called back to be closer to them once again," Chia told SFGATE.
"While other Oakland restaurants have blamed crime in the city and decreasing sales for their closures, Chia made it clear their closure was purely for personal reasons," they said.
"And this year, things were actually finally starting to fall into place how we needed them to with the restaurant."
"...it didn't really start to feel real until we started getting all the personal feedback from our team and from customers hearing the news," Chia stated.
