On the third anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, President Zelensky posted a heartfelt message recognizing the sacrifices of Ukrainians. The day was marked by reflections on past losses, particularly as individuals like Olha Shtepan expressed ongoing grief. Evacuated from Kyiv under terrible conditions, she highlighted the lasting pain of war. Memorials across Ukraine serve as haunting reminders of destruction and heartbreak. An organization named Ukraine Wow created a unique sculpture at a major railway station, symbolizing remembrance for those lost in the ongoing conflict, reflecting the collective mourning across the nation.
On a day like today it is terrible. Three years ago when Russia attacked, I did not know that we are going to hell.
Across Ukraine, there are memorials... Some... remain as they did back then, a reminder of what was lost.
The whole month of February for us... all Ukrainians who went through those horrors, it's a terrible month.
Ukraine Wow created an animated sculpture of 12-foot-high hearts... that beat faster each time they receive a message from people with the name of someone who has died.
