Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha expressed optimism, stating that "Ukrainian-Syrian relations will witness great development" following his meetings with new Syrian leadership in Damascus.
Sybiha highlighted Ukraine’s critical role in supporting Syria's food security by saying, "Even if our country is engaged in a war, Ukraine will remain a linchpin to food security in Syria."
Sybiha pointed out the importance of diplomatic recognition, mentioning, "We look forward to mutual recognition of the sovereignty of the two countries so that we can complete diplomatic representation in Syria."
