The head of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, emphasized that despite NATO's major transformation and strengthened defenses, military power has limitations, as seen in the Afghanistan intervention.
Since taking office in 2014, Stoltenberg observed that while NATO faced criticism, it has instead become strong and united, completing its biggest transformation in a generation.
NATO has deployed tens of thousands of forces, maintained high readiness with half a million troops, and ensured 23 member states now contribute at least 2% of GDP to defense.
Stoltenberg pointed to NATO's increasing support for Ukraine following Russia's invasion, broadening partnerships globally, and significantly enhancing cooperation with the EU.
