Fox News host Howie Kurtz extensively questioned Trump adviser Jason Miller about President Trump’s incendiary remarks regarding the war in Ukraine. Trump’s claims about Ukrainian President Zelensky, including allegations of misinformation and criticism of his role in the war, sparked backlash from various media outlets and politicians. Kurtz challenged Miller on the legitimacy of Trump's statement, emphasizing the apparent denial of Russia's aggression. Miller pointed out the human cost of the conflict, highlighting the significant casualties and the dire situation of Ukrainian soldiers, asserting the need to end the violence.
Joining me now here in Washington, Jason Miller, senior adviser to the Trump transition team. President, as you know, has gotten absolutely hammered not just by liberal journalists, but by the National Review and the Wall Street Journal editorial page for blaming Russia for the invasion, blaming Ukraine, excuse me, for the invasion of Russia. How can you defend that? When the Kremlin sent troops and missiles into a sovereign country with the aim of wiping it off the map?
So let's go and take a step back for a moment. I don't think necessarily the National Review is emblematic of what regular Americans are thinking. Here's the bottom line. We have had so many people who've been killed or wounded in this conflict with Ukraine and Russia that we have to stop the killing.
In fact, Howie did you know that over a million people have either been killed or wounded in this conflict in Ukraine? Ukraine is in such bad shape right now that the average age of their soldier is over 43 years old.
You go and take the tens, if not hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian troops have been killed.
