As Ukraine struggles to field soldiers, recruitment centers are attacked
Briefly

Amid ongoing troop shortages, Ukraine has experienced a series of bombings targeting recruitment centers, which officials attribute to Russian operations aimed at undermining morale. Recent attacks resulted in fatalities and injuries, revealing the urgency of recruitment efforts three years into the conflict. Many draft-age men are evading enlistment due to fears of conscription. Andriy Kovalenko stated that Russia aims to deepen civilian-military division, with reports of Russian services incentivizing individuals to carry out sabotage. The situation highlights growing challenges in Ukraine's mobilization amidst sustained aggression from Russia.
"The main goal of Russia's attacks on draft offices is to sow more division between military and civilians," said Andriy Kovalenko, highlighting the strategy behind the bombings.
"These people can be called mules. They carry explosives, bring them in, and, of course, what happens next with these people does not interest the Russians," noted Kovalenko on recruitment methods.
