Donald Trump announced the re-release of his reality show The Apprentice, hyping it while the stock market faces turmoil. Meanwhile, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) publicly opposes a new continuing resolution intended to address national debt, describing it as an example of bipartisan waste and claiming it continues a cycle of fiscal irresponsibility. Massie's stance reflects a broader discontent within certain Republican circles regarding spending, showing a contrast to those who remain silent as Trump enjoys influence over fiscal policy. He also warns of diminishing electoral authority amongst Republicans as midterms approach.
I'm not voting for the Continuing Resolution budget (cut-copy-paste omnibus) this week. Why would I vote to continue the waste fraud and abuse DOGE has found? The CR is a UNIPARTY deal. It doesn't fund the wall. It does fund USAID.
The electoral mandate given to the President and Republican Congress dissipates with every day that passes since the election. Within a year, Congress will be totally ineffectual, paralyzed by concern about the 2026 midterm.
