During a podcast discussion, California Governor Gavin Newsom surprised Minnesota Governor Tim Walz by expressing some agreement with Steve Bannon's critiques of the industrial decline, acknowledging Bannon's appeal to the working class. Newsom suggested that while Bannon's perspectives can be weaponized, they resonate with sentiments Democrats used to advocate. In contrast, Walz expressed a more combative stance against right-wing figures, emphasizing the importance of confronting their views. Their discussion highlighted a divide in how Democratic leaders view and respond to influential figures in Republican politics.
