Tori Carter and Kirk Rickman transformed their lives by selling their home and embracing full-time cruising in December 2022. Motivated by personal losses and a serious injury, they decided to fulfill their dream of traversing the seas. Since then, they have embarked on 29 cruises, visiting destinations like Buenos Aires, Antarctica, and Lisbon. Using rental income to finance their travels, they estimate spending less than a month on land in over two years, with aspirations to continue their cruising lifestyle for as long as possible.
First, her friend died suddenly. Her dog, who she loved like a son, followed shortly after. Then, she suffered a serious back injury. "It all happened at the same time," Carter, 55, told Business Insider. "It felt like everything accumulated to saying, 'now is the time. Do what you want to do now.'"
