President Trump has mandated a full return to in-person work for federal employees, effective immediately. The Department of Veterans Affairs, led by Secretary Doug Collins, began this transition with the expectation that it will enhance overall mission focus. Exemptions will apply for certain situations, including health conditions. Simultaneously, Elon Musk warned that employees refusing to comply could face administrative leave. Other agencies, including the EPA, reflected on low in-office attendance and the desire to revitalize the work environment as part of this initiative.
"This is an exciting day," VA Secretary Doug Collins said in a video posted on social media that included footage of him greeting employees.
"Starting this week, those who still fail to return to the office will be placed on administrative leave," Musk wrote.
"At the end of the day, it's about getting us back to work, focused on the mission, and that mission is the veterans."
"Full-time, COVID-era remote work is DONE under @POTUS leadership," Zeldin said Monday on X.
