The Trump administration announced an exemption for military spouses from the executive order mandating federal employees return to in-person work. Effective immediately, this directive allows spouses of active-duty, disabled, or deceased military personnel, as well as those whose partners are in the U.S. Foreign Service overseas, to maintain remote work arrangements. This decision follows bipartisan advocacy for legislation aimed at supporting the employment stability and fulfillment of military families, acknowledging their unique challenges and sacrifices.
Agencies shall allow military spouses to continue in existing remote work arrangements - regardless of whether they were appointed under the Military Spouses Employment Act authorities.
Our military families make great sacrifices in support of their loved ones in the Armed Forces - for which we are forever grateful for.
