South Korea has officially launched a digital nomad visa, allowing remote workers to live and work in the country for up to two years. This new visa is aimed at making remote work and vacationing in Korea easier for foreigners.
"To make remote work and vacation of foreigners in Korea smoother, we have decided to launch a new digital nomad visa," South Korea's Justice Ministry said.
To qualify for the digital nomad visa, applicants must be at least 18 years old, have an annual income of over 84.96 million won (around $64,300 USD), and have at least one year of work experience in their industry. They also need to provide details of their criminal record and proof of private health insurance.
"The new system will allow employees and employers in overseas firms to tour and work remotely in Korea for a longer period of time," said South Korea's Justice Ministry.
