New Zealand Now Has a Visa for Digital Nomads-Here's How to Apply
Briefly

Starting January 27, 2025, New Zealand will allow remote workers to live and work in the country for 90 days under the Visitor Visa. This change is aimed at attracting digital nomads, who can boost tourism spending without stringent income requirements. New Zealand's government emphasizes the economic benefits of this move, stating that it will enhance the quality of life, strengthen local businesses, and create opportunities for locals. As other countries also adopt similar programs, New Zealand seeks to remain a desirable location for lifestyle-oriented workers.
"The change will enable many visitors to extend their stays which will lead to more money being spent in the country," New Zealand's Immigration Minister Erica Stanford said.
"Compared to other kinds of visitors, international remote workers have the potential to spend more time and money in New Zealand, including during the shoulder season," Tourism Minister Louise Upston said.
