Korea Officially Announces New Digital Nomad Visa
Briefly

South Korea plans to launch a digital nomad visa in January 2024, allowing foreign residents to work remotely while staying in the country for up to two years. The aim is to accommodate the growing trend of workcations.
"To make remote work and vacation of foreigners in Korea smoother, we have decided to launch a new digital nomad visa," said the Justice Ministry.
Applicants for the digital nomad visa must meet various qualifications, including providing proof of an annual income higher than the country's per capita income. They must also submit documentation of employment status, criminal record, and private health insurance.
"The new system will allow employees and employers in overseas firms to tour and work remotely in Korea for a longer period of time," according to the Justice Ministry.
