Van Duyne emphasized the difficulties of team building and productivity in a remote work environment. 'How do you build a team when you don't have people coming to work?', she questioned.
She pointed out the financial burden of leases for unused office spaces, stating, 'You could shoot a cannon through many of these federal buildings and never touch a single soul because they are empty.'
Van Duyne noted, 'There is a lot of waste, fraud, and abuse.' She criticized the inefficiencies in government spending during discussions about remote work and federal office utilization.
