A mother is upset after discovering her mother-in-law snuck her grandchildren into a movie theater by claiming one of the children's shoes was lost. The husband dismisses her concerns because his parents did the same in their youth. The columnist agrees that the action is wrong but expresses difficulty in feeling outrage over it. They question the societal implications of such acts while drawing attention to graver issues faced by children in dire situations around the world. The columnist respects the mother's desire to protect her children from moral dilemmas.
