The dreaded Zillow ban is finally here. Here's what you can do
Briefly

Zillow's recent policy change, effective June 30, will prohibit home listings marketed by real estate agents unless they are shared in relevant local databases within one business day. This move targets the growing issue of 'exclusive inventory' where homes are advertised in select venues but not widely accessible on platforms like Zillow. As tensions rise, Compass, the largest US real estate brokerage, has filed a lawsuit against Zillow regarding this new listing policy, highlighting significant industry conflicts over visibility and control in real estate marketing.
Starting Monday, Zillow will be banning home listings that have been marketed publicly by a real estate agent without being shared in local databases within one business day.
The move is part of a broader fight over 'exclusive inventory' or 'hidden homes' - properties advertised in some places but not others.
While the fight has been going on for a few years, things have recently turned especially ugly with Compass suing Zillow over the new blacklist.
