Former men's bathhouse property in San Jose lands new owner from Arizona
"Over a period of 43 years, Watergarden operated as a private men's health club. It closed in 2020. It is with the deepest regret that we must announce our permanent closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Watergarden posted on Facebook in July 2020. Due to the ongoing closures of businesses and unknown dates for a possible return to normal, we are not able to reopen."
"In 2021, an affiliate of Briggs Development paid $4 million to buy the property. By the fall of 2022, it had refashioned the Watergarden into a creative workspace. The site consists primarily of 10,900 square feet of office spaces that can be divided into as many as four office suites, according to a marketing brochure that Cushman & Wakefield, a commercial real estate firm, had circulated."
"The office property also features four breakout rooms, a courtyard and an outdoor seating area, stated the brochure, which was authored by property brokers Scott Prosser, Brandon Bain and Jack Depuy. The seating areas will enable additional collaboration. 1010 The Alameda is conveniently located among the plentiful amenities of Midtown San Jose and downtown San Jose, is walkable to transit, and provides easy access to major freeways, Cushman & Wakefield stated in the marketing brochure."

Attempts to market the space as an office hub failed to attract tenants. An affiliate led by Shivam Bhanvadia purchased the property for $2.5 million in September 2025.
