Zillow integrated MLS listing information into a Zillow application on ChatGPT while attributing listing information to listing agents and MLS and complying with MLS rules and policies. Zillow consulted its IDX display team, legal counsel, and former MLS executives to align the ChatGPT app with existing IDX rules and data protections. Zillow also engaged MLS attorneys nationwide to review the integration. Zillow required OpenAI agree not to use MLS data to train models and emphasized fair housing compliance. Some MLS organizations, including Stellar MLS, are reviewing the integration with legal counsel to determine potential violations.
