During stage 1b of the Vuelta a Extremadura, Greta Marturano from UAE Team ADQ achieved an unexpected victory, sprinting ahead of her breakaway companion Sigrid Haugset from Coop-Repsol. The duo had established a lead of over two minutes after initiating an attack on the day's only categorized climb. Although the peloton managed to close in during the final 10 kilometers, they were unable to catch the leaders. As a result, Clara Copponi from Lidl-Trek claimed third place, navigating a crash in the closing straight.
